It’s an inn on a remote island in the Seto Inland Sea,
about 100 meters east of Naoshima,
with no regular ferry service.
“Nagi-machi-so”
“I started life anew on this island, far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city and crowds,
and I have come to realize that the tranquility of the mind and daily life,
such simple happiness, is true happiness.
The island of Mukaejima taught me such things.
I hope that visitors can feel the natural beauty and atmosphere,
reminiscent of Japan’s original scenery, and experience a similar calm.
With that hope, I named this inn ‘Nagi-machi-so’.”
Our inn is located on an island without even a vending machine, let alone regular ferry service.
The house itself is over 150 years old, an ancient dwelling.
It is neither convenient nor elegant like the thousands of other inns out there.
We simply wish for our guests to spend their time here as they wish,
in complete relaxation and peace of mind.
With that in mind, we eagerly look forward to welcoming everyone.
There is also a room filled with the manager’s hobbies
such as books, manga, art collections, DVDs, records, musical instruments, and more.
